Why Link is Slowly Going Psychopathic in the Legend of Zelda Series

Everyone knows that in any given Zelda video game (I have the most experience with the two Nintendo 64 games, but it sticks the most in Majora's Mask since that's when Link is at his most altruistic) the road to victory is paved with the severed chunks of vital organs you "happen" to find lying around.
